Getting To Muir Beach Overlook

Driving
Driving north on Rt 1 past Muir woods, you will see a small sign on the left side which tells you to turn left into the overlook. It’s a small sign and a sudden opening in the line of trees so it may be easy to drive by the road to turn in.
Parking at Muir Beach Overlook
The parking lot has room for approximately 10 cars. Usually, visitors stay for less than half an hour so spots do open up rather quickly. The trail to the edge of the cliff is a short .3 mile walk, down a series of stairs.
Taking Uber & Lyft
It’s not recommended to take Uber and Lyft over to Muir Beach Overlook since there is no cell signal for some carriers. You can get there fine but leaving the overlook it would be tough reliably request a Uber or Lyft.
